Minimum path — smooth on one Mac

Hardware checklist

• Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) — Intel may limp; not the smooth path
• macOS current stable
• ~2 GB free for host; more as you Suite Get
• Internet only for download / optional package fetch — product runs offline after install

Install

1. Get the host: Mac Native package (.pkg / .dmg).
2. Install into ~/Applications/The Briefcase App/ (or system Applications equivalent).
3. Open The Briefcase.app only — folder should stay host-clean until Suite Get.
4. Verify: product folder contains host + suite inventory, not a warehouse of apps.

First hour

1. Walk Overview · Suite · Settings in the host console.
2. Use Suite → Get only for consoles you actually want (e.g. Pockit Universal App).
3. Prefer Web suit when you want zero disk footprint.
4. Open order for footprint reduction: Mac Native → Universal App → Web App (first available wins).

Privacy at minimum

Everything product-side is on your Mac. Marketing at thebriefcase.app is separate. No mesh required until you want another building, travel access, or shared compute.

When to add layers

• WireGuard — you leave the house and still need home organs → WG guide
• GL.iNet — you want a dedicated always-on tunnel box → router guide
• DGX / NAS — models, forge, or vault outgrow the laptop → hardware tiers
