Hardware

Start small. Scale the office when you want.

The product is software on hardware you own. Below: the minimum that runs smoothly, then optional layers (GL.iNet tunnels, MacBook Pro M‑series, DGX Spark, DXP6800‑class NAS). You do not need the full fleet to use The Briefcase App.

Minimum · smooth daily use

One good Mac is enough

Required

  • Apple Silicon Mac — M1 or newer recommended (M‑series MacBook / Mini / Studio)
  • macOS current stable (Sonoma / Sequoia-class)
  • Disk — ~2 GB free for host app + room for Suite Gets you choose
  • The Briefcase.app — host-only seed from download

What you get

  • Product folder + Suite Installer
  • Local doors (*.localhost)
  • Three Suits: Mac Native · Universal App · Web App
  • Private by default — nothing leaves the Mac unless you wire it

Optional for comfort: 16 GB+ RAM if you run local models on the same Mac; external SSD if the internal drive is tight.

Smooth remote · tunnel layer

WireGuard + a router that speaks it

Not required for desk use. Required when you want home organs from the road without opening every port on the public internet.

GL

GL.iNet (recommended travel / edge)

Flint 2 (AX6000), Brume 3 (MT5000), Slate / Beryl travel routers — OpenWrt-class UI, first-class WireGuard, easy peer export. Perfect “always-on home endpoint” or travel client.

WG

Any WireGuard peer

Stock Mac WireGuard app, Linux wg-quick, or another router with WG (OpenWrt, Asuswrt-Merlin, etc.). Same mesh idea: private overlay, allowlisted routes.

Power tier · optional push

Hardware that can push — when you outgrow one Mac

These are exemplars from a full Family Office fleet. Swap brands; keep the roles.

Operator desk

MacBook Pro M‑series

e.g. MacBook Pro M5 Max · 128 GB · 4 TB

Creative + operator workstation. Runs The Briefcase host, Suite Get, agent surfaces, light local inference.

  • Role: human desk · CI · daily console
  • Need? No — any M1+ Mac works
Compute brain

NVIDIA DGX Spark

GB10 · 128 GB · 10 GbE · USB4

Family LLM runtime, forge compute, heavy RAG, ComfyUI-class jobs. Lives on the private mesh, not open Wi‑Fi.

  • Role: models · forge · batch AI
  • Need? No — start without; add when models outgrow the Mac
Storage vault

UGREEN DXP6800 Pro

2× 10 GbE · TB4 · multi-bay NAS

Git objects, model cold vault, backups, media. Prefer direct 10 GbE to compute when possible.

  • Role: durable storage · LFS · models
  • Need? No — external SSD is fine at first
🍎

Always-on Mac mini (optional)

M4-class mini for 24/7 workers, Open WebUI, light services when the laptop lid is closed.

Small VPS edge (optional)

Public TLS termination + gated doors only. Not where models or vaults live. Clinic / apex pattern.
